Why Council Has a Facebook Page:

Bundaberg Regional Council’s Facebook page exists to provide information on Council news, initiatives, events, updates and programs. It is used as an important tool for Council to actively engage with the community, serving as a place for discussion and an active exchange of ideas. Council encourages individuals to contact our 24 hour Call Centre on 1300 883 699 for specific enquiries, or visit our official website at www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au where you can make a general request, which is processed through our Records Department.

Operating our Facebook page:

The Bundaberg Regional Council Facebook page is maintained by the Corporate Communications Team. We support the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (hyperlink to http://www.facebook.com/terms.php) and related Facebook policies, and we request that visitors to our page to do the same. Please note that opinions posted by users of this page do not reflect those of the Bundaberg Regional Council, and we advise that Council provides a variety of interaction methods and ways to stay in touch.

Please note that Council provides updates to Facebook generally during Council business hours of 8:15am to 4:45pm, Monday to Friday. We cannot guarantee a response to your comment or message outside these hours, and we encourage any urgent enquiry to be directed to our 24-hour Call Centre on 1300 883 699. Our Facebook page may operate around the clock in times of declared local emergency.

Terms of Use:

Just like the Bundaberg region, Facebook is a friendly community. We welcome an open dialogue with our residents and visitors, we do not discriminate against any views and we encourage you to discuss and share opinions with others and Council via our Facebook page.

In order to ensure our page is friendly and welcoming for all visitors, we do moderate where needed. We ask that when contributing your views to Bundaberg Regional Council’s Facebook page, you ensure that you DO NOT:

It is not acceptable to post comments that are likely to offend others, including references to an individual’s race, age, gender, sexuality, political leaning, religion or disability, and it is unnecessary to post repeat comments continuously.

• Swear, or use otherwise offensive language. We want everyone to be comfortable visiting this page to get the important information we try to provide.

• Harass or make personal attacks against other users. Please be respectful of others and their opinions. It is not acceptable to harass, abuse or threaten other visitors to this site.

• Re-post other people's appeals, requests or offers, or anything else that could be considered spam or commercial in nature. It is not acceptable to promote anything that may constitute spam, including business and commercial interests, solicitations, advertisements or endorsements of any non-governmental agency, including links to any other Facebook pages we haven’t approved.

• Report any offensive material on Facebook to this page, or post a link to it. Complaints about offensive material should be made directly to Facebook.
